This auction is for a pack of six massively powerful neodymium rare earth magnets.
Dimensions: 12mm diameter x 16mm long.
Strength rating is N45. Most magnets sold in NZ are N35, which is 20% weaker. And Neodymium magnets are about 10X more powerful for their size than traditional ferrite magnets.
Arranged to repel, their 6 kg force is astonishing. Likewise, if you put two together attracting, the direct pull of over 6 kg makes them really difficult to separate without or tilting or sliding.
The photo shows a solid steel cylinder of 8.4kg being easily lifted, using a steel bar across the top of two magnets.
Possible uses:
- Hold products for display e.g. cards or scarves.
- Clamping components while gluing.
- Finding lost screws, nails, etc.
- Magic tricks.
- Make motors or generators. (See "homopole motor" in Youtube.)
- Simple springs - e.g. for an electric guitar foot pedal.
- Mega-strength fridge magnets.
