This is a pack of four massively powerful, difficult to separate, neodymium "rare earth" magnets.
These have a direct pull to each other, or 2mm sheet steel, of abouit 8 kg. MOre if you stack them. 18 kg between 2 steel sheets.
Dimensions: 20mm diameter by 5 mm thick, with a 3.2 mm countersunk hole. (For other stock with mounting holes, also condsider our specialised "pot" magnets, or our D40x10 mm.)
Two of the magnets are countersunk on the North side, and two on the South side, so you can make them either attract or repel each other.
Strength rating is N45. Most magnets sold in NZ are N35 (i.e. significantly weaker). Neodymium magnets are about 10 times more powerful than the same size in traditional ferrite magnets.
Possible uses:
- Holding products for display.
- Holding panels to steel walls.
- Clamp components while gluing.
- Holding tools etc against walls or ceilings.
- Powerful door closures.
- Gentle door closures, set into the top edge of the door and under the top frame. (Mount so that they almost touch.)
- As replacements for strong springs, either pushing or pulling.
- Retrieving lost nails, screws, etc.
- Making motors, generators, or other science projects. (Search Google)
- Magnet therapy.
Many more uses, limited only by your imagination. The more you use them, the more uses you find
Warnings:
- Keep away from small children because if two are swallowed they can cause serious harm.
- They can pinch tender skin.
- The material is brittle so it can chip or break if magnets crash together.
- Keep a safe distance, i.e. where the field is negligible, from electrical and magnetic devices such as TV, computer, tapes, credit card etc.
