Neodymium Block Magnet: 50x25x12mm + Hole. N45.Price: $50.00 The following shipping options are available.
This is a massively powerful neodymium, "rare earth" magnet. This type is about 10 times more powerful than traditional ferrite or ceramic magnets. The main photo shows this magnet easily lifting an 8.6 kg steel cylinder. - 50 mm x 25 mm x 12 mm, with a 4.2 mm countersunk mounting hole through the centre. The north and south poles are on the largest faces. - Strength rating: N45. Significantly stronger than N35 often sold in NZ. (N50 is about 10% stronger still, but more brittle, and poorer pull per dollar.) - Pull/push around 35 kg between magnets, and the same direct pull to smooth, flat 4.6 mm steel plate. - Between two such plates, one magnet has a pull of around 60 kg! - The magnetic field can be projected further from the magnet by spacing a row of them along a solid steel bar. Ideal for attaching items to solid steel surfaces when quick removal is required. For example, attach them to a fibreglass tool or equipment box, which then pulls securely against any solid steel surface, e.g. a tractor, steel girders, or the wall or ceiling of a shipping container. Some other uses: - Frictionless substitute for springs, pulling or repelling, e.g. on a chain tensioner. - Gate catch. - Making wind generators. - Clamping components during assembly or gluing. - Making "sweeper" magnets, i.e. magnetic "brooms" for attracting contaminating steel. Discounts available for quantity. Warning: - These magnets are DANGEROUS! They can rupture skin, and wreck clothing. - Because they are brittle, they can chip if they crash together. - Keep them a safe distance, i.e. where the field is negligible, from electrical and magnetic devices such as TVs, computers, tapes, credit cards etc. For our other magnet sizes, click "Sellers Other Listings" or search “Dangerousmagnets”.
