This is a pack of 96 really powerful, neodymium "rare-earth" magnets, with durable nickel plating.
Dimensions: 3mm diameter x 3mm long.
They have a pull/push of around 0.29 kg between magnets, or to 0.5 mm steel sheet.
The strength rating is N45. Most magnets sold in NZ are N35, which is significantly weaker. N50 is rather more brittle.
Neodymium magnets are about 10 times more powerful than normal ferrite magnets.
Possible uses:
- To attach the components of miniature figures.
- Attaching components of board games.
- As a "clasp" for bead bracelets etc.
- Catches for lids of small boxes.
- Science experiments and school projects.
- Acting as small springs, either pushing or pulling.
- A pair rolling together, as a separable hinge
- Embed them in any object you want, eg a pencil, to attach to a steel surface.
- To operate small reed switches.
- Holding products for display.
- Make kinetic art sculptures.
