This is a pack of 16 incredibly powerful, neodymium rare earth cylinder magnets.
Dimensions: 10 mm diameter by 5 mm long, with a 3 mm hole though the centre. The hole can be used to attach them to a surface, or to slide them along a rod, pushing against each other.
The strength rating is N45. Most magnets sold in NZ are N35 (which is significantly weaker). Neodymium magnets are about 10 times more powerful than traditional ferrite magnets.
These have a pull/push of around 2.7 kg between magnets, and the same direct pull to smooth, flat, 1.4 mm sheet steel.
Possible uses:
- Levitation-like effects when slid on a non-magnetic, vertical rod.
- Clamp components whilst gluing.
- Educational science gift.
- Holding tools on walls.
- Make kinetic art sculptures.
- School science projects

- Keep away from small children because if two are swallowed they can cause serious harm.
