This is a pack of four ULTRA-powerful neodymium, "rare earth" magnets. They are ideally used for making small but powerful motors and generators.
They can also be used to make existing motors or generators more powerful by replacing obsolete ferrite magnets, which are about 10 times weaker.

Each magnet is a 90 degree segment of a cylinder
When linked together in a circle, as per the photo, the outside diameter is 1.5" (38.1 mm) and the inside diameter is 1.25" (31.8 mm).
The pack of 4 is made up of 2 magnetised with the north face on the outside, and the other 2 magnetised with the south face on the outside, so going once around the inside of the cylinder, there is a change, N-S-N-S
The strength rating is N45. Most magnets sold in NZ are N35 (which is about 20% weaker). Neodymium magnets are about 10 times more powerful than traditional ferrite magnets.
